「RAID5してるから安心」 ->「RAID箱が壊れた」コンボを何度も喰らってるので、よっぽどのコストをかけない限りRAID専用箱は信用しない、って方向です。

ハードウェアRAIDカードも、仕事で「カード自体が壊れた」->「カードが手に入らない」->「データはカード独自の妙な管理構造が邪魔してうまく取り出せない」のコンボをいくつも見てきたので、よっぽどでないと避けてます。
